Too Much Lemonade

Apparently my dear husband decided I have had too much lemonade to drink lately so today, on his way home from making his hospital calls, he stopped and picked up 2 of my addictions........

UMMMM..... Now I feel some better.... what more can a girl want if she has Pepsi and chocolate??? Ok, so there are a few things a bit higher up on my priority list but it was incredibly sweet of him to try to make me feel better by indulging my chocolate and Pepsi addictions.

And a note about the chocolate: I'd never had any chocolate from "Ghirardelli chocolates" before but oh goodness... let me tell you...... you aint had chocolate until you've had Ghirardelli. I have not tried any of their dark chocolate since I really don't like dark chocolate but the milk chocolate caramel was enough to make my troubles go away (for a few seconds anyways). So.... even though a candy bar from Ghirardelli may take half your paycheck, its def. worth it. Ok, well, maybe its not THAT expensive but I'll tell ya, this chocolate makes Nestle's or Hershey seem like wax.

Oh, and sorry Angie..... it has to be Pepsi for this PA girl!!! ;-)

Good Friday Service

Tonight was our community Good Friday service. All the area churches combine together and we remember together what Jesus did for us on the cross. There were 200+ people in attendance and the service was great. The area young people were in charge of the music and I felt they did a great job of keeping the focus on the reason for the service. I was impressed by their humility and lack of any showiness. The best part of the service, for me, was that Byron was asked to be the speaker. He did a great job of bringing God's Word. I was very proud of him. We had 13 in attendance from our church which was a great support for Byron. He's glad the evening is over though!!

Making Memories

Daddy has been very busy lately and the kids have been begging for some wrestling. So, this afternoon daddy gave in and spent an hour wrestling, tickling and playing with the kids. Here's the pics.

Alyssa woke up part way through the fun and she was NOT impressed. She wanted NOTHING to do with it all. She sure made some adorable faces though!!

Playing their favorite game - get daddy's nose!
Pretending he's daddy. :-)
Playing "Bronckin Broll...." (he doesn't say it just right. Its funny to listen to him)

Vincent pretending he's a high lift.

My competition

For the last year, I've had competition when it comes to spending time with my husband. Last year at this time, he started graduate school to get his masters in education. It's been a long road and we still have til the end of this year to go. I'm sure we will all be thankful that he did this - when its all over!!! In the meantime, if I want to spend any time with my husband I have to go over to his study and typically, this is what I see.....

If I get lucky, this is what I see!!

Sweets From My Sweetheart

Last night Byron had to go visit a lady in the nursing home and on his way home he had to pass Walmart. He called me from there and asked me if I needed anything. I assured him that I didn't and wondered why on earth he felt the need to stop to begin with. A little while later he came home with a big smile on his face. He had stopped to buy me flowers but when he saw the price he knew that I would be appreciative but think only about the cost. So, since he knows me so well, he bought me the next best (and much cheaper) token of his love... CHOCOLATE!!!!!

Thanks, Sweetheart!!! I love you!!!

My dear perfectionist husband

Honestly.... for the last 4 days I keep hearing about this dreadful 15 page paper that is due yesterday. I mean he has been staying up until 3:00 AM each morning to work on this. He's been spending ENTIRE days in his office on this thing. Anyways.... He's been stressing.

So, he turns it in last night at midnight and gets his grade this AM. He got an 89% on it. He was devastated. Completely blown away. So.... his prof told him to revise it and re-submit it by midnight tonight.

So..... I get the kids all settled in bed.... get him his favorite snack..... brew some tea for us..... and head to his office to give him moral support during this stressful and disappointing time.

While sitting there I say to him... "honey, hypothetically, what happens if you don't get any higher of a grade than the 89%?" So, he accesses all his prior grades up until now. GUESS WHAT???!!! If he gets no better than a 89% on this paper his average right now (even with the 89%) is 99%.

I about spit out my tea. I was like, "WHAT?!! You mean I've been feeling all sorry for you and letting you whine about your awful grades and then I find out THIS?!!!" I promptly got up and left. I said, "Honey, if you want to sit here in front of this computer and go over that stupid 15 page paper simply to bring your grade from a 99% to a 100% - go for it but I have more important things to be doing." GRRRRR!!!

So, for my perfectionist hubby, I have found a new motto that he must recite each night before going to sleep..... "I am careful not to confuse excellence with perfection. Excellence, I can reach for; perfection is God's business."Michael J. Fox
