I think this is true in a lot of cases, but I have had very small children that have had health difficulties that I have treated with herbal remedies. Over time they have improved dramatically. I read the cool mist for croup and sitting on mother's lap calming the child. I had one child with chronic ear infections and one diagnosed with asthma. Herbal remedies have helped both of them. I'm not sure how you could explain that away as a placebo effect. They were between 1-3 years old.
