My 2 Hunters

Byron no longer can think about just himself when he goes hunting. His "lone" hunting days are over. Last year, thanks to the "Mentoring Youth" program in PA, Kenton was allowed to hunt squirrels. He shot 7 squirrels last year(4 grey, 1 fox, 1 red and the coveted black that not even Daddy has gotten yet). This year he will go buck hunting with Daddy and maybe even get a buck. I am not sure who is more excited - Kenton or Daddy!!!
Kenton and Daddy went out in full gear yesterday together while Daddy hunted for deer with his bow. Kenton did very well being perfectly still and quiet. At one point he got tired of being bit by mosquitoes. He got up and started to leave and Byron did not notice until he saw the mighty hunter stealthily making his way out without even a twig snapping. If Byron had not seen him moving slowly he would have never heard him, that is how quiet he was!
The chances of Byron getting a deer with Kenton along are far slimmer, but Daddy would rather the time and excitement of hunting with his boys than getting another deer. (P.S. Big change for him!) :)

Wow, they are starting them out young now! My husband used to hunt but mostly with a bow b/c the temps were warmer. He hates the cold :) And our girls are too gushy over animals, so the only camoflauge I see in my future is the stuff Janae buys for fashion! lol!!
